Ways to Give
We sincerely appreciate your support of the Providence Preservation Society’s Power of Preservation Education Campaign. Please select your preferred giving method below. All gifts to the Campaign are fully tax-deductible.
Cash Gifts: Make a cash gift to the Campaign. Checks should be made payable to Providence Preservation Society with “Capital Campaign” in the memo line, and mailed to 24 Meeting Street, Providence, RI 02903. Credit card payments can be made over the phone by calling 401-831-7440 or securely online via Paypal.
Interested in making a recurring donation? Click the “Make this a monthly donation” checkbox on the donate page. You will need a Paypal account to use this option. You can change or cancel the recurring donation at any time through your Paypal account.
Gifts of Stock: Donations of stock incur no capital gains tax when given for charitable purposes. To make a gift or pledge payment, donors should direct their broker to transfer stock to Providence Preservation Society (do not sell the stock before transferring.) When making a gift/payment of this kind, donors should contact Angela Kondon at 401-831-7440 or at email@example.com for special transfer instructions and inform us of the name of the stock, the number of shares being transferred, and the transfer date, so staff will be aware of the gift’s arrival and accurately record the information on your behalf.
Vehicle Donation: Have a car that’s past its prime? Donate it to PPS! From cars, trucks, RVs and more—we accept almost any type of vehicle donation that meets the following basic requirements:
- Vehicle has a clear title.
- Vehicle is in one piece but does not need to be running.
- Vehicle is tow truck accessible.
Donating a vehicle is easy and tax-deductible. Simply call 855-500-RIDE (7433) or submit the secure online donation form at https://careasy.org/nonprofit/Providence-Preservation-Society.
Memorial/Tribute Gifts: Donors may make a gift in honor/memory of a family member, friend or colleague. Please provide PPS with information about how you would like your gift to be recognized when you make your contribution.
Additional Giving Opportunities:
Donor Advised Funds
IRA Charitable Distributions
Individuals who are at least 70 ½ years of age may make a charitable contribution of up to $100,000 each year directly from their IRA to PPS without counting the transfer as income for federal income tax purposes. Married couples, where both spouses have traditional IRAs, can contribute up to $200,000 per couple while also satisfying their required IRA minimum distribution
Corporate Matching Programs
Numerous companies offer matching gift programs where they will match an employee’s charitable gift to PPS in varying amounts. Donors are urged to obtain their employer’s matching gift information when applicable.
For those who desire to make a significant contribution and also wish to accomplish estate planning objectives, a gift from one’s estate or a life income gift may be considered.
Please contact Director of Donor Relations Angela Kondon at 401-831-7440 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on these giving opportunities.
