Can you imagine what Providence would be like without the Providence Preservation Society? Picture College Hill devoid of its charming collection of 18th-century homes. Picture the downcast and downtrodden Downcity of the early 1970s. Picture the Armory District in complete disrepair. For the past fifty years, PPS has dedicated itself to enhancing our capital city’s unique historical built environment. Working with other forward thinking organizations and individuals PPS has brought about the stunning renaissance we all celebrate today. The money raised from PPS events goes directly to support PPS’s programs and services throughout the year, helping PPS to fulfill its mission of both educating and advocating for the preservation and rehabilitation of the city’s historic resources.
