Sites and Stories Explored: Mural Unveiling

May is Preservation Month! Come celebrate with PPS as we host events across Providence that highlight our city’s unique architectural heritage.

The Providence Preservation Society has engaged five artists / artist teams to create new works related to four of our 2018 Most Endangered Properties. In 2019, PPS will unveil these five original artistic works that explore hidden and layered narratives of several endangered historic sites in Providence. More information on this project can be found here.

Deborah Spears Moorehead will unveil her mural that traces water usage from pre-European-contact times to the present. The artist carried out research on the colonial, industrial, and contemporary uses of Providence waterways in preparation for this project. This event is free and open to the public, with advance registration required.
