PPS Brings the Holiday Festival Back
After months of careful planning and hard work by staff and numerous volunteers, the Providence Preservation Society Holiday Festival and Benefit Street Stroll was enjoyed by thousands of visitors! After a six year winter's nap, the much loved event drew tour goers from throughout the state. Highlights from the weekend festivities included a Patron's Reception, horse drawn carriage rides on Benefit Street, a special tree lighting ceremony by Mayor Cicilline and Karen Adams, holiday bell ringers and carolers, mulled cider, roasted chestnuts, and other seasonal merriment. The Saturday afternoon December 9th house tour was especially popular. Guests were treated to an up close and personal glimpse of historic Benefit Street architecture adorned in holiday fanfare.
