28th Annual Festival of Historic Houses
The Providence Preservation Society (PPS) hosted its 28th Annual Festival of Historic Houses on Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2, 2007. The Festival is the signature fundraising and educational event for PPS and is an opportunity to showcase well-preserved buildings in Providence’s varied neighborhoods. This two-day tour featured a spectacular array of homes along George, Manning and Cooke Streets on Providence’s East Side.
This year’s tour included a Friday night Patrons Reception, highlighted by a taste of “savory” and “sweet” foods from local caterers in two homes on the East Side. On Saturday, tour properties included ten of the most spectacular homes in Providence in the College Hill Neighborhood (Hope, Waterman, Governor and Power Streets).
