29th Annual Festival of Historic Houses
The Providence Preservation Society hosted its 29th Annual Festival of Historic Houses on Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, 2008. The Festival is the signature fundraising and educational event for PPS and is an opportunity to showcase well-preserved buildings in Providence's varied neighborhoods. This two-day event featured a spectacular array of historic properties in Providence's Fox Point Neighborhood.
The Friday night Patrons’ Reception at the exquisite Moses Brown Ives House featured hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Guy Abelson Catering and East Side Market, and complimentary cocktails. New PPS Executive Director, George Born, made his debut at the event after an introduction by Providence Mayor David Cicilline. The event also featured a silent auction. Saturday, Festival attendees toured some of the most interesting and unique houses in Providence. Thanks to everyone—homeowners, volunteers, staff, trustees, and attendees—who made this event a wonderful success.
