755 Westminster Street Lofts, Adaptive Reuse/Neighborhood Revitalization Award
The rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of the historic Lily Building has been a major catalyst for the neighborhood and its ongoing revitalization. Prior to its restoration, the building sat vacant for many years and was in need of considerable repair. Following the building’s restoration, a number of other renovation initiatives have begun, resulting in a neighborhood that is now alive with residential and commercial activity. The result of this specific project is the creation of 13 residential lofts and two commercial spaces in a building that has been beautifully restored and stands prominently on one of the city’s most significant thoroughfares. The positive impact the project has had on the community is owed to the efforts of the project team of Armory Revival Company; Durkee, Brown, Viveiros, and Werenfels Architects; Yoder + Tidwell, Ltd.; R.K. Baker & Associates; and RW McClanahan & Associates.
