George and Rosemary Rocchio, Volunteer of the Year Award
Each year, the Providence Preservation Society honors an individual for outstanding service to the Society with our Volunteer of the Year Award. This year, we honor not one but two people who epitomize the spirit of volunteerism here at the Preservation Society – George and Rosemary Rocchio. This couple’s commitment to PPS has proven itself time and again throughout the years. In 2004, they spearheaded our volunteer effort for the Society’s 25th Festival of Historic Houses. The Rocchios spent numerous hours working to strengthen and expand our core group of festival volunteers, which are so integral to the success of this annual event. Their enthusiasm and commitment to PPS is infectious. These attributes not only make the Rocchios outstanding volunteers, but valuable assets to the Society. We honor them today for their dedication and years of tireless service to the Preservation Society.
