Wm. McKenzie Woodward, President's Award
Mack Woodward’s passion and commitment to PPS and the city of Providence are evident to all who meet him. Having served as a PPS Trustee and on numerous PPS committees over the years, in 2004 Mack took the leadership role in finding the Society’s capable new Executive Director. He worked tirelessly over a five-month period overseeing not only the search for the appropriate candidate, but conducting hours of interviews in order to find the right person to lead the Society. Mack’s guidance, creativity and spirit have infused the Providence Preservation Society with passion and enthusiasm for the work we do. His work on the Society’s Guide to Providence Architecture has helped to generate a new revenue stream for the organization while at the same time helping to fulfill its mission of educating and advocating for our rich architectural heritage. Today the Society honors Mack for his long-time commitment to the organization and for his many years of service to the preservation community.
