Be part of a global festival celebrating the places that matter to YOU!
Inspired by the writings and life of Jane Jacobs, Providence will be host to at least 13 tours created by residents. Tours will be held throughout the weekend and across the city. Unlike typical guided tours, these free walks are led by volunteer citizen guides who share knowledge of their own communities with others. Through open conversations that get tour-goers thinking, talking, and connecting, Jane’s Walks engage people in a democratic city planning process. Participants should wear comfortable shoes, find their leaders in their designated meeting spots, and be ready for lively discussions while on the move.
