Jane’s Walk Providence is a 3-day celebration of cities and the people who inhabit them. This year, the dates are May 2, 3 and 4, 2025.
Would you like to lead a Providence Jane’s Walk? Great!
If you have an idea for a moving conversation, alone or with a friend, we want to hear from you. All Providence neighborhoods are welcome, all languages are welcome, and you don’t need to be an “expert.” You just need to bring an open mind and a clear description of your walk, including the start and end location.
Topics from previous festivals include heritage, history, and architecture, diaspora communities and immigration, housing and displacement, transportation and mobility, food, public art and performance, public space, accessibility, health, social justice, politics and policy, community development, neighborhood quirks and characters.
We ask that you do not design a tour but a participatory conversation, one in which you allow time for others to contribute. These 1-2 hour long walks happen rain or shine, and are all volunteer and community-led.
Here is the 2025 walk leader proposal form: https://forms.gle/K53GR7CynfXnbifV8
The Jane’s Walk Providence Committee would be happy to consult with you on the details of your proposal, and we will have a meeting in late April to prepare all accepted walk leaders.
