Avoiding a Plaster Disaster

Did you know that hanging objects on plaster walls improperly can result in holes, cracks, and even whole sections of the wall falling out? If this hasn’t happened to you yet, you might want to check out this session so that it never will!

Get the dos and don’ts for hanging art on plaster walls: the most effective techniques for hanging objects without damaging your wall or risking the object falling down. You’ll get a basic understanding of the structure of a plaster wall and a chance to practice hanging an object at the Esek Hopkins House, the “learning lab” for our Building Works programs. With that practice under your belt, you can be more confident in hanging art without damaging the walls in your own home.

Attire: Wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you’re comfortable getting dirty.
