Triple Decker Forever

This project celebrates the history of a specific type of multi-family urban housing. Often called a triple-decker or a tenement house, it stacks three, four or occasionally six apartments in a tidy little package on a small city lot. These buildings have seen a lot over 1.5 centuries; love, loss, birth, death, conflict and rest and a whole lot of cooking and cleaning.

Each event in our series includes a little history, the hands-on making of a LEGO model and a story collection station, where attendees can scan photos and share stories related to their own triple-decker experience. Everyone is welcome, but the workshop is geared towards teens and adults. This project will culminate in an exhibition at Providence City Hall in September and is organized by Traci Picard and Andrew Grover.

You may walk, bus, bike or drive to this event.  The closest bus is the R line stop on North main St, and it is a short walk from Kennedy Plaza and Pvd train station.
