PPS is pausing our engagement on Twitter. We primarily use Twitter to reshare posts from Facebook and Instagram, but we don’t use it regularly. As a small organization (5 FTEs), it is challenging to engage on multiple channels, so we prioritize those geared towards sharing images. And while we enjoy the back and forth with our small Twitter audience, we don’t think that most of the people who follow us actually see our tweets.
Additionally, Twitter as a civic commons is becoming a place we don’t want to be anymore. As we work to incorporate equity and justice into all parts of our work, it makes sense to participate in platforms that are aligned with those values.
You can still find us @PVDPreservation, and we continue to welcome conversation on our Facebook and Instagram pages. For the latest news and notes, sign up for our monthly e-newsletter.
We are thankful to the Barr Foundation for their thoughtfulness surrounding the use of this communications tool.
