Volunteer

Since our founding in 1956, volunteers have been critical to PPS’s work across the city. We love our volunteers and are so grateful for the time they give to making Providence a better place! Throughout the year, volunteers sit on committees, create special events, give tours, write, proofread, organize, archive, photograph, and do any number of activities, each according to each person’s interest.

Please fill out this form to let us know how you wish to get involved. A staff member will contact you soon after to follow up.

PPS is also looking for research and proofreading volunteers to support ongoing work to revise, expand and update our online Guide to Providence Architecture, a reference site that is used by more than 35,000  people every year.  Research volunteers participate in building or site research, developing social histories of people associated with historic buildings or sites, or assisting staff in the back-end maintenance of this valuable database. Other research topics that may align with PPS’ scope are also welcome. Click here to fill out our research volunteer sign-up form.
