Tours
PPS does not offer regularly scheduled guided walking tours for the general public, but our neighbors do! The best place to catch a tour with us is on our architecture river tour offered from June through September.
- Providence River Boat Company Tours (May-October)
- Jewelry District Walking Tours (April-October)
- Providence Independent Trail (self-guided)
- The Rhode Island Historical Society (occasional)
Guide to Providence Architecture
Use our mobile architecture guide to explore the buildings, landscapes, and neighborhoods that make Providence special.
Specialty Tours
Hire PPS to guide you around the city! Our staff experts lead two specialty experiences for bus tours, conventions and conferences, and other heritage travel groups. T0urs can also be adapted as a special traveling program for schools, retirement communities, community gatherings, and other occasions.
ABCs of Architecture / Providence boasts hundreds of remarkable buildings representing over 300 years of architectural history and detail, including arcades, brackets, and collonades. Brush up on the basics while taking in examples of both humble and high-style architecture in one of New England’s oldest cities.
PVD Preservation / Providence has achieved the post-industrial urban renaissance many American cities dream of, and preservation has proved to be a key (and sometimes controversial) tool in that transformation. Explore some of the exceptional buildings that preservationists, politicians, and Providence’s own have worked so hard to save.
Email Kelsey Mullen to learn more or to schedule a tour. Rates start at $150 per group and are adjusted based on the size, length, and date of your tour. We kindly request at least 14 days’ notice.
